Bill Ragland
Bill Ragland didn’t begin with the idea of writing a book for the world. He began with something much smaller and much more personal.
He wanted to tell a story his grandchildren could hold onto.
His life has been anything but ordinary. From photography and teaching to building businesses and spending years close to nature, his experiences have shaped the way he sees the world. But storytelling has always been there, quietly present in the background.
This story came to life during a time when connection mattered more than ever. What started as a simple story shared with family slowly grew into something worth sharing more widely.
One of the most unique parts of this book is how it was illustrated. Instead of relying on traditional artwork, children were invited to draw what they imagined as they heard the story. The result is something honest, unfiltered, and full of life.
Bill’s writing reflects that same spirit. It’s not overworked or complicated. It feels natural, warm, and real, exactly the way a story like this should feel.
Floppy The Dinosaur Chicken
Floppy is raised as a chicken, loved without question, and cared for like he belongs exactly where he is. But as he grows, it becomes harder to ignore the truth: he looks different, sounds different, and experiences the world in ways no one else does.
Still, life carries on. There’s school, friendships, and the small everyday moments that shape who he is. Until one day, a journey into the mountains changes everything.
What Floppy discovers there turns his world upside down. He isn’t just different, he’s something no one expected. And yet, instead of losing the life he knew, his story opens into something bigger.
From hidden caves and new families to storms, dangers, and acts of courage, Floppy’s journey is filled with adventure that never loses its heart.
At its core, this is a story about belonging, about finding your place without giving up where you started, and realizing that sometimes, you’re allowed to belong to more than one world.
Lola and the Unicorn
‘ Being lost in the Rocky Mountains in the Spring when it’s cold and snow is falling is a frightening experience. Nighttime is even scarier, but, when strangers step in and help, a bond is formed that lasts for life.
Lola (a white pet rabbit) and Snick (Lola’s friend. A white puppy with brown ears) are the lost ones.
Their adventure in finding their way back to their humans who are frantically searching for them is a story of impending danger, new friends, and bravery in tough situations. Through their experience with Zoella, the unicorn. they learn that, through trust and believing, new friendships can become strong and last a lifetime.
Sometimes it’s not clear if the humans or the pets are lost, but an amazing effort by all the new forest friends bring them through the dangers and pitfalls that threaten them. These are the ties that bond good friends through life’s dangers and adventures.
